Aims

workers-bushtelegraph-logo

Workers BushTelegraph is a website using a blog format which discusses current and past events, books and film with the aim of promoting worker political
education and consciousness.

It is a non-sectarian resource for workers and their organisations.

Workers BushTelegraph is primarily for original articles, original news, stories you can’t read elsewhere, original verse, original pictures, videos and music.

We will not publish racist or anti-worker sentiments.

We do not seek ‘balance’ in reporting when it favours the wealthy and powerful, the bigoted or the sectarian — readers will have to go to the mass media for that.

Workers BushTelegraph publishes stories, articles, poems, music, songs, videos relating mainly to
two questions, they are:

  1. The Master/servant relationship. The power of boss over worker. More can be found out about this at the LeftPress Website – After the Waterfront – the workers are quiet
  2. The struggle of indigenous people for land rights and social justice in Australia.

Contributions to Workers Bush Telegraph are welcome.

This website is dedicated to rank and file unionists.

One such worker was Vern Sunfords who died in May 2006 at age 65.

Vern came up with the name BushTelegraph and what is more put it into practice, circulating BushTelegraph on his employer’s intranet for many years. For Vern, Bush Telegraph was an underground publication for workers.

We are not so sure but we are careful what we publish to make sure it cannot harm workers. If you wish to discuss submission of articles, photos, cartoons, reviews, videos etc please phone or email Workers Bush Telegraph at the address below.

Our aims are less clear, they depend on what decisions workers wish to make about our future.

We look to our contributors for some direction with how Workers BushTelegraph is organised.

Comments are welcome.

..your perspective/mission statement could be more obvious but is ok – i think it is all tied in with vern’s story, true? .
..right side boxed off could be good to separate a little from current writes.
